The Henny-Penny Principle
You probably have heard the story about Henny-Penny, or Chicken Little:
One day Henny-Penny was picking up corn in the yard when -whack!- an acorn hit her upon the head. “Goodness gracious me!” said Henny-Penny; “the sky’s a-going to fall. I must go and tell the King.”
We might think this chicken is a pretty dumb little thing, but aren´t we behaving the same way when we regard trivial or even imagined inconveniences as impending disasters?
Here is an exercise to get off this self-destructive track…
Every time you realize that you are stepping on the long, slippery road of endless worry, think with emphasis: “Henny-Penny!” It should make you smile a bit about yourself, which is a good way to counter excessive worry anyway. Above all it serves as a trigger to stop undue mental attachment. Do this over and over again, whenever you need it.
If you are an obsessive worry wart, you can take this a step further and tack post-it notes that just say “Henny-Penny” to places you see every day, like the mirror in the bathroom or your desk. In addition you could ask a friend, or a family member to cry: “Henny-Penny!” when they catch you drowning in a pool of worry.
And, of course, you can tap on top of your head and say: “By the way, the sky never falls, never, ever.”
What’s your “Henny-Penny principle?”
The Magic of Money
With all the tales of horror featuring our present financial situation, the vibrations surrounding money got very low. Money is dirty, money hurts us, only greedy people still have enough money, money is our ruin. Just thinking of money generates fear, anger, and other very unpleasant feelings, right?
Well, if you are just a little bit familiar with the Law of Attraction, you know that this can’t be good.
Let’s switch from the horror scenarios to the land of magic. In myths, legends, adventure stories, and fairy tales, money is often seen as gold. Pure, shiny, sparkly, beautiful gold. There are treasure chests, precious artefacts, money trees, pots of gold, golden eggs, money spitting donkeys, or gold coins falling from heaven. In other words, money is a thing of value, joy, and beauty.
Just for the sake of the Law of Attraction, I decided to re-connect to the timeless magic of money - and I feel so much better since I started doing that.
My tool? Creative imagination. When I start feeling bad about money, I go immediately in my inner magic garden to my Money Tree. Just looking at this tall, strong tree with its healthy, green leaves and its shiny golden fruits in the shape of gold coins puts a smile on my face. Sometimes, I shake the tree and collect the coins in a big basket. Tomorrow, there will be more…
The time is now to feel good about money.
How do you re-connect to the magic of money?
